About Dr. Steve Tutty
A scientist-practitioner in forensic work. Services are provided through Aspyre Psychology.
Research Training Applied to Forensic Questions
Dr. Steve Tutty is a licensed clinical psychologist specializing in child, forensic and neuropsychology.
He has more than 30 years of direct clinical and forensic practice and more than 20 years of teaching, research and publishing in clinical psychology across multiple US states. His evaluation work spans more than 2,300 children and adolescents with complex neurodevelopmental conditions such as autism, ADHD and twice-exceptional (2E) profiles, and more than 535 adults involved in personal injury litigation, often after traumatic brain injury.
Before evaluation work, he spent a decade counseling children, mostly with ADHD and autism, and adults with depression.
Published Research
As a National Health Scholar and Scientific-Practitioner, Dr. Tutty has contributed to randomized clinical trials: on ADHD with pediatrician Harlan Gephart, MD, and on depression and telephone-based psychotherapy with principal investigator Greg Simon, MD, work that began in 2000 and was early in the telehealth movement. Designing and reporting trials teaches the same discipline a forensic review demands: whether the method fits the question and whether the conclusions go beyond the data.
